Air Fryer Mozzarella Dippers

As a family we’d always order a load of starters instead of mains – and mozzarella dippers were a must on the table. These are incredibly easy to make and go down a treat, the crunchy exterior and melty interior is simply irresistible. Ingredients

  • mozzarella cheese ball 400 g
  • egg 2 (beaten)
  • plain flour 50 g
  • panko breadcrumbs 120 g
  • dried oregano 1 tsp
  • garlic granules 1 tsp
  • onion granules 1 tsp

Method

Prep the mozzarella

  • Pat the mozzarella dry and cut into 4 long pieces per serving (so if you’re cooking for 4 you’ll need 16 pieces).

Preheat the air fryer

  • Preheat the air fryer to 220°C (or your air fryer’s maximum temperature).

Coat the mozzarella

  • Put the flour in one shallow bowl and season with salt and pepper. Beat the egg in another bowl, and mix together the breadcrumbs, dried oregano, garlic granules and onion granules in a third bowl.
  • Coat each mozzarella piece with the flour and pat off any excess, then dip it in the beaten egg. Press the mozzarella into the breadcrumb mix until well covered. Repeat until all the mozzarella is breadcrumbed.

Cook the mozzarella dippers

  • Lightly spray each mozzarella dipper with some oil and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece (you may need to cook in batches).
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes until crisp and golden on the outside and oozy on the inside. Serve the mozarella dippers with your favourite dip and enjoy!
