Hot Cross Bun & Mini Eggs Bake

Hot Cross Buns but make them into a bake! Hot cross buns loaded with mini eggs, chocolate spread and sliced bananas. A perfect Easter treat that is so tasty and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • hot cross buns 6
  • nutella 80 g
  • egg 2 (whisked)
  • whole milk 100 ml
  • banana 2 (sliced)
  • mini eggs 80 g

Method

Preheat the oven & slice the bananas

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan.
  • Peel and slice the bananas.

Prep the hot cross buns

  • Slice each hot cross bun in half and spread each bottom half with the nutella.

Assemble the bottom layer

  • Whisk together the eggs and milk.
  • Arrange the bottom half of each hot cross bun (the half with the nutella on it) cut side up in an ovenproof dish (we used a 30 cm dish).
  • Scatter the banana slices on top. Crush the mini eggs and scatter most of them over the bananas, reserving a handful of them for the top.

Assemble the top layer

  • Pop on the tops of the hot cross buns and pour over the rest of the egg mixture. Scatter the reserved mini eggs on top.

Bake then plate up

  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, until golden brown, then plate up and enjoy!
