Easy Masala Paneer Tart

We think this is one of the easiest tarts you will make! Dressed paneer brings heaps of flavour, plus we're using tinned sweetcorn but you can sub it with your favourite veg. Ready made pastry is a brilliant ingredient to have on standby in your freezer to whip this up in no time.

Ingredients

  • paneer 400 g (diced)
  • garam masala 1 tbsp
  • red onion 1 (quartered)
  • fresh coriander 1 handful (chopped)
  • spring onions 4 (chopped)
  • tinned sweetcorn 200 g (drained)
  • shortcrust pastry 320 g
  • tomato passata 100 g
  • mixed leaf salad to serve

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan.
  • Dice the paneer. To a bowl add the paneer, the garam masala and a dash of oil. Mix together ensuring it’s well coated.
  • Peel and quarter the red onion. Chop the coriander and spring onions. Drain the sweetcorn.
  • Unroll the pastry sheet and lay it on a baking tray, on the paper it comes in.
  • With a sharp knife score an approx 1cm border around the edge of the pastry.
  • Spread out the passata in the middle of the pastry sheet inside the border then scatter the paneer and red onion on top.
  • Brush the pastry edges with a little oil. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, add the sweetcorn and bake for another 5 minutes until the pastry is golden.
  • Cut the tart into slices, top with the spring onions and coriander and serve with the mixed leaf salad. Enjoy!
