Beef Mince Keema

We’ve teamed up with Sainsbury’s to bring you low-cost, feel-good recipes. Easy, tasty and stress-free. I just love a dish that only takes one pan! This curried beef mince was sooooo tasty and super easy! You can batch make the delicious beef mince mix then just pile on the cheese and bake when ready to serve! Load up the freezers for the future - yes please. Serve alongside your favourite greens and rice if you like, it would also be delicious stuffed into a jacket potato.

Ingredients

  • garlic cloves 2 (sliced)
  • beef mince 500 g
  • curry powder 1 tbsp
  • frozen peas 120 g
  • cream cheese 4 tbsp
  • grated mozzarella 100 g (grated)
  • crispy onions 1 handful

Method

Cook the keema

  • Thinly slice the garlic cloves.
  • Start by frying off the beef mince in a little oil until starting to brown and go crisp in an ovenproof frying pan.
  • Now add the garlic and gently fry for 1-2 minutes before adding the curry powder, frozen peas, cream cheese and a good splash of water.
  • Give the beef mince a good mix and let it bubble away for 2-3 minutes, have a taste and adjust the seasoning.

Finish with the cheese & grill until bubbling

  • Heat the grill to high
  • Next cover the mince with a load of grated mozzarella and crispy onions then pop under the grill until the for a few minutes until the cheese has melted and the pan is bubbling and glorious.
