Amal Hassan, a contender, successfully combined it with a wonderfully grilled rack of lamb. He couldn't get enough of the flavour of this zesty green sauce, and when the episode aired, he approached Amal and begged her for the recipe. Grandma Todiwala’s macaroni & cauliflower cheese Cyrus Todiwala| Mothers day 2022 | Mothers day recipes

Speaking of paying homage, if you want a recipe as old as your Grandmother you cannot go wrong with this. It dates back to when the first pasta was introduced to the British public, after which it quickly made its way to India and into the Raj's clubs and gymkhanas. Cyrus, like most Indians, grew up eating overcooked pasta. It wasn't until his European training in 1980 that he learned he'd been cooking it all incorrectly - but back then, if you prepared pasta al dente, it was returned to you. Cyrus' mother's macaroni was cooked till it split, but the joy was in the sauce and her amazing flavour magic.

Chicken and Spinach Curry - Nisha Katona

We all know that the brits love curry, and I'm sure your mother is no exception. Chicken curry is a popular dish in many Indian homes. Nisha started this recipe by contemplating how we might fit as many of our five-a-day into a one-pan supper as possible. The flavours that come out of this curry are tremendous owing to the plethora of spices that have been added.

Chocolate Meringue Mousse Cake - Jo Pratt

Chocolate Meringue Mousse Cake - Jo Pratt | Mothers day recipes | Mothers day 2022

For dessert it only takes five basic ingredients to produce this really stunning dessert. It has a deliciously chocolatey mousse-like centre beneath a thin crackly coating of cocoa powdered meringue that is neither too sweet nor too rich. This is a great do-ahead dessert since you can make it a few hours or even the night before.
